Gulf Coast Restoration Fund Advisory Board created; purpose; membership

(1) There is created the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund Advisory Board for the purpose of providing guidance and expertise to MDA when reviewing applications for assistance under this chapter. The advisory board shall consist of the following seven (7) members: (a) Three (3) appointments from the Governor; (b) Two (2) appointments from the Lieutenant Governor; and (c) Two (2) appointments from the Speaker of the House of Representatives. (2) The Governor shall appoint the chairman of the board and the board shall elect such other officers as it considers necessary from among its members. (3) A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of meetings and all actions of the board shall be by a majority vote. (4) The Mississippi Development Authority shall provide any necessary administrative support to the board. No person nominated for, appointed to or serving as a member of the board may be an elected official. (5) Members of the board shall serve without compensation, per diem or mileage expense. (6) All expenses of the MDA in carrying out its duties and responsibilities under this section shall be paid from funds in the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund.
