Committee to recommend sites for facility

(1) On or before October 1, 1991, the committee shall recommend in writing to the authority three (3) candidate sites for the state commercial hazardous waste management facility. The recommendation shall include a comparative evaluation relative to the site selection criteria of each candidate site with other sites and locations that were considered and a description of the implementation of the site selection methodology by which the sites were recommended. Priority shall be given to the recommendation of candidate sites meeting all of the site selection criteria located on state-owned land described in Section 17-18-13(d) and in communities interested in voluntarily hosting the state commercial hazardous waste management facility. (2) The committee shall hold a public hearing in the county of each of the three (3) candidate sites prior to their recommendation to the authority. Laws, 1990, ch. 506, § 12, eff. 3/31/1990.
