A public agency administering a public housing program or a rent subsidy program shall report to the commissioner of the Housing Finance Agency by February 1, each year, beginning in 1998, the reduction in the number of units or Section 8 certificates or vouchers during the year and an assessment of the reasons for the reduction, including whether it is due to the state's welfare reform initiatives. A public agency that acquires and demolishes housing occupied by persons whose incomes are less than 50 percent of the area median income shall report the number of units demolished to the commissioner of the Housing Finance Agency. The report must be submitted to the commissioner of the Housing Finance Agency no later than March 15 of the following year.
