(a) A person may not sell, offer for sale, or give to consumers in this state a beverage packaged in a plastic can. (b) A plastic can subject to this subdivision is a single serving beverage container composed of plastic and metal excluding the closure mechanism. A person may not sell, offer for sale, or give to consumers beverages or motor oil containers held together by connected rings made of nondegradable plastic material. A person who violates subdivision 1 or 2 is guilty of a misdemeanor.
