This section may be cited as the "Uniform Determination of Death Act." An individual is dead if the individual sustains irreversible cessation of: (1) circulatory and respiratory functions; or (2) all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem. A determination of death must be made in accordance with generally accepted medical standards.
