Michigan Code § 791.509

Certification or Recertification of State Correctional Officer.

Sec. 9.
Beginning 6 months after the effective date of this act, a person shall not be a state correctional officer unless he or she is certified or recertified by the Michigan commission of corrections as provided in section 10, 11, or 12. The Michigan commission of corrections shall certify those persons and recertify on an annual basis those persons who satisfy the criteria set forth in sections 10 to 12.
