Sec. 49. (1) In all matters of substance, authority, and jurisdiction with regard to a felony, misdemeanor, or ordinance violation case, a municipal court shall be governed by the statutes applicable to the district court, except to the extent that those provisions conflict with a statute which is specifically applicable to the particular municipal court or to municipal courts in general. (2) In all matters of practice and procedure in the exercise of jurisdiction in a felony, misdemeanor, or ordinance violation case, a municipal court shall be governed by the statutes and supreme court rules applicable to the district court, except to the extent that those provisions conflict with a statute or supreme court rule specifically applicable to the particular municipal court or to municipal courts in general.
