Michigan Code § 774.42

Circuit Court; Continuing Recognizance or Requiring New Recognizance; Default.

Sec. 42.
The circuit court for the county in which the defendant filed an appeal from a municipal court judgment pursuant to section 34 of this chapter, may continue the recognizance entered under section 34 of this chapter or require a new recognizance with further or other security until a decision is rendered in the case. If a defendant defaults on the recognizance, the court may commit the defendant to jail.
