Sec. 858. (1) When it appears reasonable and proper, the probate court may require a party to a proceeding before a hearing to give sufficient security for all costs as may be awarded against that party. (2) In a contested case, the probate court may award costs to either party to be paid by the other party or out of the estate, as justice and equity requires. History: Add. 1978, Act 543, Eff.
