Sec. 17. The county seat may be relocated to a new location if the removal and new location are approved by a 2/3 vote of the elected county board of commissioners and by the majority of the qualified electors within the county. The election required under this section shall be conducted under the Michigan election law, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.1 to 168.992. History: 1851, Act 156, Imd. Eff.
