Michigan Code § 457.83

Articles; Filing; Body Corporate, Powers.

Sec. 3.
A copy of said articles of association shall be filed with the secretary of state, and thereupon the persons who have signed such articles of association, their associates and successors, shall be a body corporate and known in the law and in fact by the name assumed by them in said articles of association, and by that name they and their associates and successors shall have succession and be capable to purchase, take, hold, receive and enjoy real, personal and mixed property; to sue and be sued, to have a common seal; and shall have authority and power to give, grant, demise, sell, lease and dispose of such real and personal and mixed estate belonging to them, or any part thereof, as they may see fit.
