WHEREAS, Executive Order 1965-7 established the Michigan Economic Opportunity Office within the Executive Office of the Governor; and WHEREAS, it is recognized that in the interests of economy, efficiency, and good government, it is necessary to effectuate changes in the organization of the Executive branch of government. THEREFORE, I, WILLIAM G. MILLIKEN, Governor of the State of Michigan, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Article V, Section 2, of the Constitution of 1963, do hereby order and direct that: 1. From and after February 1, 1971, the Michigan Economic Opportunity Office is hereby transferred from the Executive Office of the Governor to the Department of Labor. 2. All powers, functions, duties and responsibilities of the Office as previously set forth in Executive Order 1965-7 are transferred by a Type II transfer to the Department of Labor. 3. All records, property, personnel and unexpended balance of appropriations, allocations and other funds used, held, employed, available, or to be made available to the Office of Economic Opportunity are transferred to the Department of Labor.
