Sec. 60a. (1) The department shall develop and implement a program of computer data matching by which the department shall compare its computer records concerning applicants for, and recipients of, assistance under this act with the computer records of financial institutions, to determine if the applicants or recipients have assets or income in excess of the eligibility limits established by the state department for assistance under this act. (2) Not later than May 1, 1986, the state department shall report to the chairpersons of the house and senate committees primarily responsible for legislation concerning social services and the chairpersons of the house and senate appropriations committees. The report shall describe the state department's implementation of this section and shall include a summary of the results of the computer data matching program. History: Add. 1985, Act 140, Imd.
