Sec. 17. (1) The family independence agency shall establish program goals consistent with section 57a and shall report these goals to the governor and the legislature within 6 months after the effective date of this subsection. (2) The family independence agency shall prepare and on or before the fifteenth day of December in each even-numbered year make a report to the governor, setting forth the operation of the family independence agency during the preceding fiscal biennium of the state, reporting on progress toward the goals established under subsection (1), and containing any findings and recommendations of the family independence agency.
