***** 390.1532.amended THIS AMENDED SECTION IS EFFECTIVE 91 DAYS AFTER ADJOURNMENT OF THE 2024 REGULAR SESSION SINE DIE ***** Sec. 2. (1) This state's members of the Midwestern Higher Education Commission created in section 1 must consist of all of the following: (a) The governor or the governor's designee. (b) One member of the senate, appointed by the senate majority leader. (c) One member of the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives. (d) Two at-large members, appointed by the governor. (2) In addition to this state's members listed in subsection (1), the governor shall appoint the designee of the state board of education and the director or designee of the department of lifelong education, advancement, and potential to serve as nonvoting members of this state's delegation. These individuals are not members of the Midwestern Higher Education Commission and do not have a vote in decisions made by this state's members. (3) A vacancy in a position in this state's delegation to the Midwestern Higher Education Commission must be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as that specific position was filled under subsection (1).
