Sec. 1288. If participating in a course or visiting a course would result in a pupil, teacher, or visitor being exposed to danger of physical harm, each pupil and teacher participating in the course and each visitor to the course shall wear industrial quality personal protective devices, which have been sanitized prior to use, while participating in or visiting the course or participating in or visiting safety training required for the course. The board of a school district or intermediate school district or board of directors of a public school academy shall furnish the protective devices for pupils, teachers, and visitors to the classrooms, laboratories, and field sites used for the course or training.
