Sec. 5684. (1) The provisions of this part are cumulative and do not impair or supersede a legal right that a patient or patient representative may have to consent to or refuse medical treatment for himself or herself or on behalf of another. (2) This part does not create a presumption that a patient who has executed a POST form intends to consent to or refuse medical treatment that is not addressed in the medical orders on the POST form. (3) This part does not create a presumption that a patient or patient representative who has not executed a POST form intends to consent to or refuse any type of medical treatment.
