Michigan Code § 322.221

Office of Commissioner of State Land Office; Abolition, Transfer of Powers and Duties to Public Domain Commission; Transfer of Ex Officio Memberships to Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Sec. 1.
The office of the commissioner of the state land office shall be abolished from and after December 31, 1914. All duties devolving upon said officer, and all the powers and authority incidental to said office, prior to or upon December 31, 1914, shall thereupon be transferred to and become the duties, powers and authority of the public domain commission, which commission shall, from and after December 31, 1914, exercise all the powers and authority and be charged with the performance of any and all such duties as may be required or prescribed in connection with the office of commissioner of the state land office except as herein provided. The superintendent of public instruction shall, from and after December 31, 1914, take the place of the commissioner of the state land office on the board of state auditors and all other boards, committees or commissions of which the commissioner of the state land office is by virtue of his office a member. The superintendent of public instruction shall, as a member of such boards, committees or commissions, perform the same duties and exercise the same powers and authority required of, and the powers and authority exercised heretofore by the commissioner of the state land office.
