Sec. 51. (1) The director may establish a pseudorabies advisory committee. The committee shall be composed of, but not limited to, swine producers, animal scientists, state and federal regulatory officials, veterinarians, representatives of organizations and cooperatives in the swine industry, auction markets, the packing industry, and extension specialists. (2) The director may consult with the committee on issues which include, but are not limited to, intrastate regulations, interstate regulations, and progress of the state on pseudorabies and brucellosis control and eradication programs. (3) The committee shall maintain liaison with other states and the federal government and with the national pseudorabies eradication program standards committee through state and national producer and livestock associations, organizations, and agencies.
