Sec. 27. (1) A limousine carrier, taxicab carrier, transportation network company, limousine driver, taxicab driver, or transportation network company driver shall not be considered a common carrier, motor carrier, or contract carrier, or to provide commercial vehicle service. (2) A transportation network company driver is not required to register his or her personal vehicle as a commercial or for-hire vehicle. (3) As used in this section, "motor carrier" means that term as defined in section 1 of the motor carrier act, 1933 PA 254, MCL 475.1. History: 2016, Act 345, Eff. Mar. 21, 2017
