Sec. 62. (1) Only a candidate who established a single candidate committee which submitted a statement of organization according to procedures established by law may receive moneys under this act. Moneys received by a candidate pursuant to this act shall be spent only through the candidate committee and shall be reported by the candidate committee according to procedures established by law. (2) If a candidate desires to receive moneys from the state campaign fund, the candidate shall file a statement of organization indicating the intent to seek qualifying contributions or to make qualifying expenditures. Contributions received or expenditures made before the filing of a statement of organization for the office of governor shall not be considered as a qualifying contribution. (3) A candidate who does not apply for moneys from the state campaign fund is not subject to sections 61 to 71. History: 1976, Act 388, Imd. Eff. Dec. 30, 1976
