Sec. 1. The township board of a township, the board of trustees of a village, or the common council of a city in this state, may appropriate money for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the proper observance of armistice, independence, and memorial or decoration day or for the proper observance of a diamond jubilee or centennial. The sums appropriated shall be assessed, levied, and collected in the same manner as other expenses of a township, village, or city are assessed, levied, and collected. History: 1905, Act 110, Imd.
