Section 140. In each town where beef cattle are sold for the purpose of marketing or barrelling, the mayor or selectmen shall appoint one or more persons, conveniently situated in such town and not dealers in cattle, as weighers of beef. Each such weigher shall be sworn to the faithful performance of his duties.
