Return of recognizance and examination taken by magistrate; order compelling; contempt

Section 66. A recognizance and examination taken by a magistrate under this chapter shall be certified and returned by him to the district attorney or to the clerk of the court before which the person charged is bound to appear, on or before the first day of the sitting thereof; and if he refuses or neglects to return the same, he may be compelled to do so forthwith by order of court, and, in case of disobedience, may be proceeded against as for contempt.
