[ Text of section effective until November 25, 2025. Repealed by 2025, 73, Sec. 31.] Section 5. Before surrendering the body of any such person as provided in the four preceding sections, the chief medical officer of any institution named in section one may, if the cause of the death cannot otherwise be determined and if such body is unclaimed by relatives or friends, cause an autopsy to be made upon it.
