(a) In this section, the term "motorcycle" includes Class M (multipurpose)
vehicles that are designated by the Administrator.
(b) Every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, shall be equipped with at
least two headlamps with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle,
which headlamps shall emit white light and comply with the requirements and
limitations set forth in this title.
(c) (1) Every motorcycle shall be equipped with at least one and not more
than two headlamps that comply with the requirements and limitations of this title.
(2) A headlamp on a motorcycle may modulate either the upper beam
or the lower beam from its maximum intensity to a lesser intensity, consistent with
federal motor vehicle safety standards.
(d) Every headlamp on every motor vehicle, including every motorcycle,
shall be located at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 22 inches.
