(a) In any application for a certificate of title, a person may not: (1) Fraudulently use a false or fictitious name; (2) Knowingly make a false statement; (3) Knowingly conceal a material fact; or (4) Otherwise commit a fraud in making the application. (b) In any application for the registration of a vehicle, a person may not: (1) Fraudulently use a false or fictitious name; (2) Knowingly make a false statement; (3) Knowingly conceal a material fact; or (4) Otherwise commit a fraud in making the application. (c) A person convicted of a violation of this section is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000.
