(a) The head of the Administration is the Motor Vehicle Administrator, who
shall be appointed by the Secretary with the approval of the Governor.
(b) (1) The Administrator serves at the pleasure of the Secretary and
shall report directly to him.
(2) Subject to the authority of the Secretary, the Administrator is
responsible for carrying out:
(i) The powers and duties vested by law in the
Administration; and
(ii) Those powers and duties vested in the Secretary and
delegated to the Administrator by the Secretary.
(c) The Administrator is entitled to the salary provided in the State budget.
(d) (1) With the approval of the Secretary, the Administrator shall
appoint a chief deputy administrator who has the duties provided by law or delegated
by the Administrator.
(2) The chief deputy administrator is the acting administrator during
periods when the Administrator is absent or disabled.
(3) The chief deputy administrator serves at the pleasure of the
Administrator and is entitled to the salary provided in the State budget.
