The purposes of this part are to: (1) establish a system of executive and legislative evaluation of regulations that will: (i) determine whether the regulations of a unit: 1. continue to be necessary for the public interest; 2. continue to be supported by statutory authority and judicial opinions; and 3. are obsolete or otherwise are appropriate for amendment or repeal; and (ii) assist the Executive Branch in being accountable and responsive to the public interest; and (2) assure that the evaluation takes place in a timely and orderly manner.
