(a) There is a Maryland Advisory Committee on Historic Agricultural Structure Preservation. (b) (1) The Committee consists of 10 members. (2) The ex officio members are: (i) the Secretary of Agriculture, or the Secretary's designee; (ii) the Secretary of Commerce, or the Secretary's designee; (iii) the Secretary of Planning, or the Secretary's designee; (iv) the Director of the Maryland Historical Trust; and (v) the Director of the Maryland Cooperative Extension. (3) The Governor shall appoint the other five members, of whom: (i) one shall be from a list of at least two nominees representing the Maryland State Grange; (ii) one shall be from a list of at least two nominees representing the Maryland Farm Bureau; (iii) two shall be individuals actively engaged in agriculture; and (iv) one shall be a member of the Maryland Environmental Trust. (c) The Secretary of Planning serves as chair. (d) The term of an appointed member is 4 years. (e) A member of the Committee: (1) may not receive compensation as a member; but (2) is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget.
