Maryland Code § PS-13A-201

Section PS-13A-201

(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b) "Apprehend" means to take a person into custody.
(c) "Arrest" means the restraint of a person by an order, not imposed as a
punishment for an offense, directing the person to remain within certain specified
limits.
(d) "Confinement" means the physical restraint of a person.
