Notwithstanding any hunting law or regulation to the contrary, a person may
hunt deer with a handgun having a barrel length of 6 inches or longer and
ammunition which produces a muzzle energy of 700 foot pounds or more during the
firearms hunting season only in hunting areas where a high-powered rifle is allowed
as provided in § 10-415 of this subtitle.
