(a) A person may not take or destroy or attempt to take or destroy the nest
or eggs of any wild bird or possess the nest or eggs.

(b) A person may not hunt or take any nest or egg of any bird regulated by
the United States Department of the Interior pursuant to the Migratory Bird Treaty
Act, 40 Stat. 755, except in the manner and by the means prescribed by the rules and
regulations adopted by the Secretary of the Interior of the United States and
approved by the President of the United States pursuant to the provisions of the
Migratory Bird Treaty Act, 40 Stat. 755.
(c) A person may take or possess any nest or egg of any wild bird regulated
by the United States Department of the Interior pursuant to the Migratory Bird
Treaty Act, 40 Stat. 755, for scientific purposes if the person first obtains a permit
from the Secretary of the Interior of the United States and a scientific certificate from
the Department.
