(a) Whenever the Commission considers it necessary to acquire any property for a purpose stated in § 17-101(b) of this subtitle, the Commission may: (1) purchase the property from the owner; or (2) if the Commission fails to agree with the owner, condemn the property by proceedings in the circuit court for the county in which the property is located. (b) At the same time, the Commission may acquire the interest of any tenant, lessee, or other person having an interest in the property.
