Maryland Code § LG-9-404

Section LG-9-404

(a) This section applies only to code counties and commission counties.
(b) The county commissioners may sue and be sued.
(c) The county commissioners may not pay a claim against the county
unless:
(1) the claim is payable by the county; and
(2) the claimant produces legal proof of the claim.
