(a) This section applies to all counties, except Baltimore City. (b) This section does not apply to fire hydrants in a municipality. (c) The governing body of a county may, by resolution, regulate the location and construction of fire hydrants. (d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, a person who violates a resolution adopted under this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $100. (2) In Calvert County, a person who violates a resolution adopted under this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500.
