(a) Each volunteer deputy sheriff of Cecil County is a covered employee while performing work assigned by the sheriff of the county. (b) Each volunteer police officer of Frederick County is a covered employee entitled to medical benefits under §§ 9-660 and 9-661 of this title while performing work assigned by the Sheriff of Frederick County. (c) Each auxiliary volunteer of the Charles County Sheriff's Office is a covered employee while performing work assigned by the Sheriff of the county.
