A person may not discharge, demote, or otherwise discriminate or take adverse action against a covered individual because the covered individual has: (1) filed for, applied for, or received benefits, or taken family or medical leave for which benefits may be paid under this title; (2) inquired about the rights and responsibilities under this title; (3) communicated to the person an intent to file a claim, a complaint, or an appeal under this title; or (4) testified or intends to testify or otherwise has assisted in a proceeding under this title.
