(a) A person may not discharge, fine, suspend, expel, discipline, or
discriminate against a plan participant or beneficiary:
(1) for exercising a right to which the participant or beneficiary is
entitled under this subtitle; or
(2) for the purpose of interfering with a right to which the participant
or beneficiary may become entitled under this subtitle.
(b) A person may not discharge, fine, suspend, expel, discipline, or
discriminate against a person, whether or not the person is a plan participant or
beneficiary, because the person:
(1) has given information or testified in an inquiry or proceeding that
relates to this subtitle; or
(2) is about to give information or testify in an inquiry or proceeding
that relates to this subtitle.

(c) A person may not, by fraud, force, violence, or the threat of force or
violence, restrain, coerce, or intimidate or attempt to restrain, coerce, or intimidate a
plan participant or beneficiary for the purpose of interfering with or preventing the
exercise of a right to which the plan participant or beneficiary is or may become
entitled under this subtitle.
