(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated. (b) "Down syndrome" means a chromosomal condition caused by an error in cell division that results in the presence of an extra whole or partial copy of chromosome 21. (c) (1) "Health care facility" means a facility or an office where health or medical care is provided to patients by a health care provider. (2) "Health care facility" includes a hospital and a limited service hospital. (d) (1) "Health care provider" means a person who is licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized under the Health Occupations Article to provide health or medical care in the ordinary course of business or practice of a profession. (2) "Health care provider" includes a genetic counselor. (e) "Hospital" has the meaning stated in § 19-301 of this article. (f) "Limited service hospital" has the meaning stated in § 19-301 of this article.
