(a) To prevent the spread of an infectious or contagious disease that endangers public health, a health officer may have: (1) Any part of a house disinfected if the house has been exposed to the disease; and (2) Any article in the house disinfected or destroyed if the article has been exposed to the disease. (b) The county where the house is located shall: (1) Incur the expense of disinfecting the house; and (2) Reasonably compensate a person who suffers damage from the exercise of a power granted by this section, if the person is not at fault.
