(a) A document of gift need not be delivered during the lifetime of a donor to be effective. (b) On or after the death of an individual, a person in possession of a document of gift or a refusal to make an anatomical gift regarding the individual shall allow examination and copying of the document of gift or refusal by: (1) A person authorized to make or object to the making of the anatomical gift; or (2) A person to which the gift could pass under § 4-509 of this subtitle.
