(a) At each general election, the names of the following nominees shall be
submitted to the voters:
(1) each candidate nominated under this title who has satisfied the
requirements of this article or other provisions of law, provided the candidate has not:
(i) declined the nomination; or
(ii) died or become disqualified and the provisions of this
article do not require that the name of the nominee nonetheless be submitted to the
voters;
(2) each nominee who has qualified for a presidential election under
Title 8, Subtitle 5 of this article; and
(3) each incumbent justice of the Supreme Court of Maryland or the
Appellate Court of Maryland whose name is required to be submitted to the voters
for continuance in office under Article IV, § 5A of the Maryland Constitution.
(b) In accordance with Title 9, Subtitle 2 of this article, the State Board
shall certify to each local board the name of each nominee who has qualified for the
general election ballot as the nominee's name is to appear on the ballots in that
county.
