(a) In this part the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b) "Local share" means the county program amount for each county minus
the result calculated under subsection (c)(1) of this section for each county rounded
to the nearest whole dollar.
(c) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, "State
share" means, for each county, rounded to the nearest whole dollar, the greater of the
following calculations multiplied by 0.5:
(i) 1. Multiply the per pupil amount by the county's
enrollment applicable under § 5-222, § 5-223, § 5-224, § 5-225, or § 5-226 of this
subtitle;
2. Divide the result calculated under item 1 of this item
by the ratio, rounded to seven decimal places, of local wealth per pupil to statewide
wealth per pupil; and
3. Multiply the result calculated under item 2 of this
item by the result, rounded to seven decimal places, that results from dividing the
total program amount by the sum of all of the results calculated under item 2 of this
item for all counties; or
(ii) The result obtained by multiplying the per pupil amount
by the county's enrollment applicable under § 5-222, § 5-224, or § 5-225 of this
subtitle and by 0.8.
(2) For the concentration of poverty per pupil grant under § 5-223 of
this subtitle and for transitional supplemental instruction under § 5-226 of this
subtitle, "State share" means the calculation under paragraph (1)(i) of this
subsection.
(d) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, "county
program amount" means, for each county, the product of the per pupil amount and

the county enrollment applicable under § 5-222, § 5-223, § 5-224, § 5-225, or § 5-
226 of this subtitle.
(2) For the per pupil grant in the concentration of poverty program,
"county program amount" has the same meaning as "per pupil grant amount" defined
under § 5-223 of this subtitle.
(e) "Total program amount" means the sum of the county program amount
for each county applicable under § 5-222, § 5-223, § 5-224, § 5-225, or § 5-226 of
this subtitle.
