The governing boards of public senior higher education institutions shall, with respect to institutions under their jurisdiction: (1) Set education policy and adopt mission statements; (2) Establish goals that are consistent with the roles and missions approved for the institutions; (3) Select presidents; (4) Establish guidelines for admission standards that are consistent with the roles and missions approved for the institutions; (5) Set guidelines for tuition and mandatory fees; (6) Evaluate and approve short-range and long-range plans; and (7) Evaluate and approve institutional budget submissions.
