(a) An employer may not discharge his employee because the employee's wages are subjected to attachment for any one indebtedness within a calendar year. (b) Any employer who willfully violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding one year or both.
