(a) A member of an appointed committee of any professional organization whose members provide health care under the Maryland Medical Assistance Program or an appointed member of a committee of a medical staff of a licensed hospital who acts without malice is not civilly liable for any functions that the member undertakes or performs in the system of review under § 15-106 of the Health - General Article. (b) This section does not affect the immunity of an officer or employee of a State agency.
