(a) The liability of a real estate investment trust extends to as much of the trust estate, including the whole, as necessary to discharge the liability. (b) A shareholder or trustee of a real estate investment trust shall have the immunity from liability described under § 5-419 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article.
