Maryland Code § AG-3-502

Section AG-3-502

(a) No person may permit a herd of livestock upon any improved highway
of the State unless the herd is attended by competent persons.
(b) At least one attendant shall precede the herd at a distance of not more
than 100 yards, and there shall be a driver not more than 100 yards in the rear of the
herd.
