(a) (1) The Board has the exclusive power to establish and alter the
standards of preliminary and professional education and training requirements of
applicants for the examination for a license.
(2) The Board may establish an annual continuing education
requirement of at least 12 hours as a condition to any license renewal.

(b) The Board may investigate and determine the acceptability of and
approve or disapprove any college or institution for the education and training of
students desiring to practice veterinary medicine. It may cancel or revoke approval if
the college or institution no longer is deemed satisfactory. However, the approval of
the American Veterinary Medical Association of a college or institution is sufficient
to qualify the college or institution. Any veterinarian desiring to be licensed to
practice veterinary medicine shall have completed the course of study prescribed by
an approved college or institution.
